Protester kills self
A 48-year-old protester in Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang province, set himself on fire and committed suicide yesterday trying to stop the operation of an incinerator of industrial wastes in his town, police said.... He then went up the roof of a nearby building, poured paint thinner on his body, and set himself on fire, police said. "Yeongcheon is dead," he screamed and jumped down from the five-story building.

If he jumped from a much taller skyscraper would the fire go out, or would he turn to ash before hitting the ground?

Maybe one day Koreans will take the enviorment to heart and clean up their air and water.

His death is sad, but what is even more sad is that hardly anyone is listening.

new fish? NEW FISH? those be fightin words boy. I hope you brought your derringer.

The reason I ask if he's buddhist is because the most famous and well known fire-suicide-protest is this: http://www.vietnampix.com/fire1.htm

Done by a buddhist monk.

I think this is a job for myth-busters.

Can we get a Korean to volunteer to be the dummy?
