Well, in that case, the remaining patrons (illegal Sri Lankans, Russian "entertainers" and Nigerian "import/export dealers") are welcome to it.

when you've already got jj in the hyatt up the road selling for those prices, and you've already got established apku and gangnam places to drop that kind of money, who would pay 20,000 to get in and 10,000 for a beer? in itaewon?

i could well be wrong but esl teachers and GIs won't, the 'illegals' won't and i can't see too many korean wannabes doing it in the 'twon.

is this just too obvious or am i missing something?

cool, let them charge 20.000 won covers, and charge 10.000 a beer
hahahah they will be back to free cover and 4000 won beers by winter!
IDIOTS!! hhahahaha they have tried that style before and it always failed there, the rent is 15million a month if not more now.. they need numbers!
charging high prices will only turn people away! and then when the boring businessmen go down there to look for booty, the place will be dead or have some fat businessmen in there and a few korean hookers, and some korean men sitting at the tables drinking whisky!!!
THE CAGE = more business for UN and SPY.. bet they are laughing now!!

It'll either close or be forced to totally revamp itself within the next couple of months...

I went down on the opening night, Friday... I drank free all night and didn't pay a bean for the cover charge since it was invite only and a number of my friend's have some interest in the venture which ensured favourable treatment...

Was it good enough to warrant the 10,000W for beer and 15,000W for cocktails? No... especially after the proposed 20,000W cover charge, and that's from someone who will happily go to the Hyatt where beers start at 13,000W...

One redeeming feature is that they had the best funky house music that I've heard outside of Apgujeong... they also had bottles of Kronenbourg but if I want to pay Apgujeong prices then I'll hang out in Apgujeong... in fact I do hang out for less in Apgujeong...

Spy Club isn't free in after a certain hour either on the weekends, it's 10,000W cover but you get a free drinks coupon... if you're a regular or accompanied by a good share of 8s and 9s then you escape paying... I was talking to the chick who manages Spy Club at Cage on Friday since she was there scouting the competition, and expect them to become much more stringent on cover charges and possibly lose the free drink that you previously got...

Most clubs do actually have a 10,000W or 15,000W cover charge if you're out in Hongdae or Gangnam...

was there Saturday nite on a VIP pass...place was practically empty, had maybe 45 people inside...granted it was raining, but...anyway, I give the club until October at tops to close down. A beautiful place, really nice inside..they poured a lot of money into it, great sound system, lights, etc...but just way over-priced for that area...people used to go to Limelight for a quick lay until it got all gay "literally"...they're losing their customer base with 20k cover and 15k drink prices. That place is done.
