I see most jobs are pretty interested in having a sealed transcript from your university.
I have recently completed a (4 yr) BSc Hons degree with the Open University in the UK. I got a nice certificate on water-marked paper, but nothing else.
Does this qualify as a sealed transcript?
I hope to be working on an F2 visa, so it will not be needed for a working visa, BUT should I still have one?
ps- I do have a TEFL certificate. |

No it doesn't.
A transcript is an official statement of grades you received for each class you have taken while attending your university. It should include the courses' names, numbers, your grade and how many credits the courses were worth. It should also state that you have graduated and the degree you earned.
A sealed transcript is the exact same thing but it is put in a special envelope. Often they have some kind of seal that tells if the envelope has been opened or not. Sealed transcripts tend to cost a bit more because of this.
Because you have an F2 you may not need to need the transcripts for immigration. You will however need transcripts to show any reputable employer. |

Is this for real? You want to be a teacher, but you don't know the difference between a diploma and your transcripts? |

Thanks.
I recieved my Degree certificate today (I am just back from holiday), and it said in that that I had already recieved my academic transcript.
I checked back, and I have one which is signed as being a true copy of the original, by Open University staff. It is not sealed though, and looks a very un-important document. I have however scanned and laminated it, for posterity.
Thanks to all who replied, but it just never registered when I received in the mail.
God Bless

Before you jump all over the OP for not knowing what a transcript is, he did mention his degree was from a UK university. From my experience, most applicants from the UK that apply to my company don't know what transcripts are because the universities (or many of them) don't issue them...at all.
It can be like pulling teeth to get transcripts from a UK university.
Cheers. |
