Phase 6 - Jinju gets wheeled off to the nuthouse where he belongs!
Anytime anyone Al-qaeda or the US or the NORK's or the Chinese or anyone else talks about using nukes, they should be shipped to the nuthouse. Period. |

Tactical nukes only. Small ones that could blast away fortified artillery. Thats all. Neutron bombs leave very little radiation and spare the infrstructure. Perfect for use on nork soldiers around the DMZ. I wouldnt buke the civillians, id use chemical weapons to take them out. |

In almost any war scenario with North Korea there would be very heavy casualties in the Seoul area. Their conventional weapons can reach as far south as Suwon, and they have lots of chemical and biological weapons.
Former (Clinton) Defense Secretary, William S. Cohen, agrees that more pressure needs to be applied - but with the goal of getting NK back to the six-party talks for serious negotiations, including a big aid package if they comply with demands. Here's part of Cohen's statement made today:
...While applying penalties to North Korea and intensifying our efforts to strengthen Japan's defense capabilities, the United States should restate our commitment to return to the stalled six-party talks in Pyongyang and, in that context, engage directly with Pyongyang. President Bush should also reaffirm his pledge that if North Korea forgoes its pursuit of nuclear weaponry, the United States will join with its allies and provide North Korea a robust economic package and welcome its return to membership in the international community.
Napoleon observed that a ruler can build a throne of swords, but he cannot sit on it. The North Korean regime cannot survive sitting atop a throne of missiles unless the world continues to subsidize it. We should turn off the spigot with one hand, while extending strictly conditioned assistance with the other...

The road to Pyongyang goes directly through Beijing. China won't let anything happen to NK if it can help it, and open war with NK would most likely mean war with China. |
