I went to Express Bus Terminal today and saw a man wearing all-white clothes, painted on hair and a ton of makeup. People started whipping out their hand phone cameras. My friend and I thought, "Star from a children's TV show?" But, no. One of the ladies there told it was Andre Kim, one of Korea's top fashion designers. Michael Jackson was once a big fan. Andre bought a copy of "W," which his suited assistant carried for him. Then he posed for a picture with a kid, who looked a bit worried. So sad I left my camera at home today. :( But here's a picture of him wearing about the same clothes as he had on today.

Whats up with that?

Has his line of fashion been left out of the department stores? Out of the loop so to speak.

Now exclusively selling only in Namdaemun and Dongdaemun, hence the inability to purchase an airticket like normal top fashion designers.

On the back of the bus with the ajummas where he belongs.

Munch on that dried squid Andre>

He has his own store in Apgujeong, or the Chungdam dong area that runs into Apgujeong. He is famous for making wedding outfits and lots of white suits.

He's quite the fruity one, and of course, there are plenty of rumors about him... Koreans definitely don't hate on him though, he's well known and respected amongst Korean celebrities.

I met Andre Kim once as well. I was in Insadong, and I saw a big crowd of Koreans looking in the window of a restaurant. I wander over to find out what the big deal is, and out he comes, surrounded by an entourage of smoking hot models (they were Filipina, I think).

The crowd ooohs and aaahs and then he turns to me and says in English "Hello, I am Andre Kim, it is very nice to meet you." Then he turned and walked away, babealicious entourage in tow.

Of all the people he could have introduced himself to at random, he picked the only one in the crowd who had no stinkin' clue who he was. Laughing

I saw him 4 years ago in Gwangju - I was in Shinsaegae department store while hubby went to watch the football match between Korea and Spain. I was just buying some aftershave for the husband when he appeared. The sales ladies told me it was Andre Kim and I was like.. *huh*? They were amazed that I hadn't heard of him and went about business as usual.. lol..

Is he really gay?!

HAHAHA, that's a great story. I guess he wanted to show off his English skills to the crowd. Story would have been ever better if you retorted "who are you?"

Are you sure he was not wearing this classy outfit? And no, I'm sure it is not his design.

his overpriced and frightfully ugly crap is also sold in duty free shops in incheon airport alongside other overpriced and frightfully ugly crap like DKNY and emporio armani.

i think the fashion industry has gone and run out of ideas, so they're just seeing what they can get away with now.

"hey, let's build an 8-foot long styrofoam sailboat, then make an anorexic model walk on a runway with it!"
"no, let's make an evening gown out of sofa cushions and tinfoil!"
"no, let's make some casual wear out of satin, burlap and hockey pads!"

fashion designers. totally full of shit.

I saw Ray Liotta today in Malibu. He looked tired... like he'd just finished a grueling schedule of filming in New Mexico.

I don't know how he can keep that get-up clean. Everything I own has either a gochu jang stain, tomato sauce stain, or a coffee stain on it.

I saw him in Hyundai dept. store. He must personally go around to the dept. store showrooms and fuss around, from what it sounds like. Anyway, he was surrounded by a gaggle of young men- bodyguards or entourage. Erm, I wonder what their job duties entitle Confused ....

I'd bet anything he's got shrines to Elton John, Liberace, and Carmen Miranda in his house...
