It varies from school to school, and most private academies don't have holidays.
My school's summer holidays are from tomorrow until 24 August. Winter holidays were 30 December to 13 February. Winter holidays are usually longer because the school year starts 1 March. |

The ones that say "local" are the Korean holidays. If you work at a hagwan, you should get these national holidays. your other vacation could be as little as a week. If you work for a university or public school you could have over a month of vacation. The public schools are out from July 25-August 31 this year and Decemeber 28-Feb. 6. This obviously changes a bit here and there, but count on 40 days in summer and 40 days in winter. Now you won't get all this time off, but if you work in a public school, your vacation will be during one of these times. Personally, I wouldn't sign a contract if it didn't have all national holidays, 3 sick days, and 2 weeks vacation included (all paid of course). |

Found a link and had a look at some international school dates... mmmm yes seems not too many hols... Here in Thailand at my school we get (approx) 2 weeks off in Oct, 2 weeks at xmas, and 2 months off in March, plus public hols... money vs lifestyle could be the key here...! |

If you have good enough credentials (like and MA), you could get a job at a university. They get loads of holidays, but the pay isn't super. You might also be able to teach in teh international schools. It's not EFL, but school is closed all summer. |
