Hi

I KNOW this is not the correct forum but I'm expiring waiting for validation for username/password for the correct forum so my question is -

Has anybody taught english as a second language via telephone? Would you recommend it? Can you suggest any legitimate organisations I could contact to apply for such work?

Thanks
JB

I havn't done it, but I think it would be awesome. I could sit at home, drink beer in my underwear, and get paid to say, "Where is Namdaemun?"

I have one class with an adult student. We use Yahoo messenger. I teed it up privately, and we speak for 10 minutes 5 times a week. For the student it's cheaper than dealing with a company, and I get paid more by dealing with her directly.

It's pretty inconvenient, though - you're kind of tied to being home at the assigned time. I wouldn't like to have to juggle a whole string of them...

Edit: brain fart

5 times a DAY? Do you mean a week? 10 minutes 5x a day sounds hellish. I guess that was a mistake. If not, please tell us what times you talk to them. If it is like at 6am, 7am, 1pm, 6pm, 9pm that sounds real sucky.. unless they are paying through the nose. Or you like being at home a lot.
