I hope someone can help me on this quick.
I just got back to Korea with a new type of visa and haven't had a chnce to get my new ARC card. I still have over a month to go.
My visa is mulitple entry. I just found out my companies vacation schedule and would like to travel outside of Korea.
Can I come and go without my ARC as long as I am in the time frame?
(I got in without the ARC of course. I don't want to get a new card yet because I need to get a new passport before I cn travel (it is going to expire soon and it is full) and haven;'t had tome to take care of that yet...)
Thanks!!! |

After gaining my visa, every time I have gone through customs, both leaving and entering the country, they have wanted to see my ARC.... even when I was leaving another country to come back to Korea! |

A month before applying for an ARC?!
I thought you were given 14 days to do so?! |

I hate to be the bearer of bad news. You MUST have your ARC before you can get a re-entry permit.
Having said that, there MAY be one exception and that is people from the United States who have a multiple re-entry allowed on their visa without the requirement of an additional re-entry stamp in their passport.

You have 90 days after entry to apply for and receive your ARC.
The reasoning is that MOST tourist visas and most visa waiver stamps are good for 90 days and they don't want to require all tourists to have to get an ARC.
All foreigners who have a period of sojourn longer than 90 days must register with their regional immigration office within 90 days of arrival in Korea.
The exception to the 90 days rule is: a Canadian citizen who wishes to stay in Korea less than 6 months with the status of stay such as B-2, D-1, D-6, F-1, F-3, G-1

The OP said that they have a multientry visa, which means they don't need a re-entry permit.
To the OP, why don't you get your card before you leave? It only takes an hour or two, and it doesn't matter if you are going to change your passport, you can do that after you get the card. Why do you need to change your passport first? |

Yes, they don't need the re-entry permit but they may still need their ARC to get past the hassles at the check-in counter. |
