How can pro-lifers show so much concern for the "life" of an embryo (an unthinking blob of flesh) and none for suffering human beings that are very much alive and have loved ones and thoughts and feelings and fears? 75% of the country wanted this funding, but a majority of Bush's nutty Christian-right base didn't want it, so being the pinnacle of morality that he is, Bush made another purely political move.
I wonder if he'd stick by his "morals" if a majority of Christians on the right suddenly decided that they wanted this funding. And I wonder how quickly the situation would change if Bush was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease tomorrow (actually, that would explain a few things).
