Yeah, he was horrible. Responsible for defeating Russia. |
I love it when Republicans take credit for the collapse of the Soviet Union......oh, wait, sorry......"DEFEATING" the Soviet Union.

Thanks.
Also, Reagan was about half as responsible for the fall of the USSR as was Gorbechev, whose policies of glasnost and perestroika were engineered to essentially end effective control of all satellite states. |

Also, I forgot to mention, Lauras Bush was not drunk at the wheel when she splattered that poor child across the freeway. It was, sadly, a complete and total freak accident that apparently haunts her to this day, and understandably so. |

Oh, wow! A thread full of disinformation. That's a rarity on Dave's.
#1. OTOH may be a sultry, provocative pubescent in her avatar, but in real life he/she is a Canadian. That is most definitely not the same thing.
#2. Yes, Reagan was A devil, but not 'the' devil. He was no where near smart enough to be Hell's head honcho. Neither was Nancy, although both did their best. No cigar.
#3. Nixon was vile, and overturning the Constitution is an unpardonable offense, no matter what Ford said. However, Ford made the right political choice at the time. Governing by division is workable, as you young pups have found out from Bush II. But he does not warrant first place in the sweepstakes of bad presidents.
#4. That honor goes to the triumvirate of Fillmore, Pierce, and Buchanan. They failed to address the issue of the day that led to the deaths of 600,000 people. Yes, I know they were elected because they were less controversial than their opponents, but Truman, who was even less well-known than any of those three, rose to the occassion. I'm not nominating him for sainthood, but he inherited a nasty situation and really tried to do something. Some of it worked out for the best. Some of it, well, maybe not. But he tried. FPB were losers and rank lower than Nixon/Reagan.
I will grant that Nixon/Reagan deserve honorable mention in the worst-ever category and that Bush is doing his best to join the group.
Personally, I agree with Herodotus, who said he agreed with Solon. You have to wait till someone is finished with life before passing judgement. Maybe George will wake up tomorrow with an epiphany and solve all the major world problems. Then again, maybe not. He has until Jan. 2009 to save his reputation. |

I'd take Nixon any day over Reagan or the Bushes.
Nixon's forgotten legacy: The EPA, Affirmitive Action, Equal Opportunity Act, Office of Minority Business Enterprise, and Title IX for starters.

Google it.
Forgiveness??? Considering what the republicasses put the Clintons through because of Monica Lewinsky, I think that is not realistic. Politicians are judged on based on their history. Bush and his wife were both drunks and junkies.[/quote]
And don't forget Ted Kennedy, another evil drunk/junkie |

Again, as I said, Laura Bush was never a drunk or a junkie. She's more or less the reason Bush is sober and a crazy Christian today. |

That's rich coming from this ESL cafe.
Anyway, the republicans were wrong, but it doesn't make it right for the democrats. If the US is going to win the war on terror, it has to come through unity and not hate. |

CraZY ... not many who'd argue that one.
But: "Christian"?
You honestly think Yeshua would see it this way?
