Sundubuman,
Can you read? My post was completely satire and I even qualified it so that subhumans such as yourself, who can only throw out swill from their mouth, might understand the premise/point.
I agree, America has done lots and yes, I have lived and traveled there much.........
Your post is completely off and you are just a mere speck of dust, with no bearing.....
I'll gladly divorce myself from those like yourself, who are so "patriotic" as to divorce themselves from even satire or laughter...

I still can't believe the satire went over his head like that. |

Holy crap sundubuman. I always said you have anti-american blinders on (massive tunnelvision), but this is pathetic. I will assume you aren't actually a complete idiot and just read Ddeubel's post too fast. |

This I highly doubt. Nice try though.
As to your "satire" of my previous post: I have absolutely no illusion that there are numerous people in the world who feel that way about the U.S. The Arab culture IS a scourge on the world and, as bigverne pointed out, their religion has become the same. If YOU feel that way about the U.S. (having never been there, of course) then fine, you are certainly entitled to your beliefs. Come visit us sometime! |

Other scourges:
Christianity
Hinduism
Apathy
Carrot Top
Capitalism
Communism
I could go on, but I think that is enough. Most people can easily show why those are all scourges. |

Oh, don't forget:
Buddhism
Europe
cricket
McDonald's
Yanni
marijuana
I could go on as well, but you get the picture. Most people....blah, blah, blah. |

buddhism and cricket are not scourges. I have no idea about how cricket is played, but it sure looks boring (and way too long), but it doesn't affect anyone negatively. Same goes for Buddhism. |

It's true. Whether you agree with his beliefs or not, ddeubel seems to have travelled to quite a few places.

All I can say is that I grew up in Canada, living with Americans. So very familiar. I spent every summer until the age of 16 in Florida, in the Keys. Also spent about 3 months in New Orleans and also 6 weeks in Missoula Montana. Drove the length of U.S.A North and south and East and West. As a runner, have run in many big races across the united states. San Diego, Washington , Vermont, Houston. Spending much time to attend these. As well, have many friends across the U.S. A. through family and my other travels, life in Europe. Also other connections with the U.S.A but I don't need to go on......
Obviously you didn't read my post. I Don't feel that way about America and said so. So like subhuman, you also don't want to read or have difficulty. Atleast I don't stoop as low as you to categorize and dehumanize a whole swath of human kind "ness".....Read some other posts of mine. I do take the U.S.A. to task but have also said many things about her good side.....though many refuse to hear.

At the risk of sounding racist here, it's not the Christians I dislike, it's the Americans. American culture has very few redeeming qualities in my view. No, I don't advocate killing them all nor "putting them in their place" but, after spending a few years in the U.S.A., I will NEVER willingly go back there. It's the American culture and mentality that fuels the kind of crap that we see virtually every day from this part of the world. Too bad most American whackos hide behind their Christian faith because I believe the religion is basically good (although I don't agree with it) but it is the Americans who pervert it. I would dearly love for American cultural dependency around the world to dry up so these people would quit spreading their worthless culture around the planet.
OK, let the racism charges commence.

Perhaps he reason a poster or two missed the "satire" of this post, is because it is such bad staire. The substitutions made are not at all parallel to the original post. The US is not a "Christian state" in any way comparable to existing Muslim states. Are there any Christian states these days-countries where all must be christian? Also, I believe Arabs are considered an ethnic group whereas, unless the reference is to Native Americans, "Americans" are not an ethnic group. If SNL did a satirical sketch on Bush and used a Latina woman with a Brooklyn accent to play Bush, I bet many people would miss the satire in that case as well. |

Hinduism is a hodge-podge of many different belief systems. The only parts of it I would consider to be a scourge are those which are the roots of impersonalist and atheistic philosophies everywhere - and those contaminated by nationalism and mundane politics...
Ignorance is the real cause of suffering. Misidentifiying with any material bodily designation (eg: I'm Korean. I'm an American. I'm a man. I'm a woman. I'm a black. I'm Hispanic...) also ultimately causes suffering as does identifying too much (or too negatively) with any sectarian religion.
Everyone's real identity is beyond all material designations, which become real "hang-ups" (to use an old hip expression... ) in progressive self-realization... |

I agree. It is so close to some of dd's other posts that the satire, if it is indeed that, is not particularly noticeable. |

DD doesn't really engage in the kind of in-your-face vicious anti-Americanism that he spoofed in that post. More often than not, he just posts this kind of semi-condecending why-can't-we-be-more-like-those-wonderful-eurpeans type stuff. He comes off like some impressionable youth who just arrived on the continent last week and is taking everything at face value. |

In each and every response to my "satire", people all qualified it in some way shape and form. Can you not read what I wrote after it, as a disclaimer?

is what I wrote. Seems clear to me. I clearly was saying that it is ridiculous to label "peoples"/ cultures in such a fashion. Also saying I don't believe a word of what I wrote as a "satire".
As satire it worked because it was directed not at comparing objects but a manner of speaking, not the facts themselves but how ridiculous those facts when assembled become.....
