Sorry for misunderstanding your interest in serious music.

I did call my ex-con friend and asked again. If it is of interest, he said all Korean cons who go by the name 브바 play a mean flute. 리뢰s love to pound the skins. Maybe you can get a jam session going with one or both of them.

Yeah, I guess I could. But truthfully I'm a one-man-band by nature and I think I'll stick to my independent roots god forbid I end up playing the banjo in the Korean pokey. Which, incidentally, is where inspiration for many country & western songs often originate as we all know.

So, I'm thinking of composing a whole Banjo original album if I find myself in the Korean pokey.

Songs like, They Took my Doggie and Threw Away the Key, I'm Soju Sad, and Where's my K Girl Now?.

If you must know, it's just a benzo (a valium family drug) that I use occasionaly for sleeping and for international travel.

But it's a class "whatever" drug in the states and doctors don't want to perscribe it because of the DEA forms and all. And it's about $70.00 there for 60 tabs 2 mg, and I just picked up 180 1 mg tabs here for $19.00 US.

Loriazapam (brand name Ativan).

Ahh, just a benzo eh? You know what it is used for? Are you sure you arent using it for more than "sleeping."

Indications

The short-term relief of manifestations of excessive anxiety in patients with anxiety neurosis. Adjunct for the relief of excessive anxiety that might be present prior to surgical procedures.

Anxiety and tension associated with the stresses of everyday life usually do not require treatment with anxiolytic drugs.

Injectable lorazepam is useful as an initial anticonvulsant medication for the control of status epilepticus.

I checked again with my friend Min-Suk who said he talked with his friends Yoo-Suk and Suk-Mi who have more experience in this area. They said this could be a problem in the proposed pokey scenario, but maybe it could be overcome by singing a chorus of "I Choke My Chicken But 닭가비 Wantin' to Choke It, Too" (it was quite a hit for Yon-sama), or if that is not in your banjo repertoire, maybe the full 3-part harmony version of "Keep Your Hands and Other Parts of Your Anatomy to Yourself".

From another post, I gather that you are going to a big party in Key West. Perhaps you can pick up the finger-pickin' version of the Queen classic 'The Pillow Biter's Serenade'. I hear that is big in that part of the country. Perhaps CubanLord, who comes from that part of the country is more up-to-date on that than I am.

If you do make a bango album about your (possible) time in the pokey, don't forget the ever popular: Back In the Saddle Again.

Dr. Ski,

Thank you for your concern. I know a great deal about this drug. I actually did a research paper on the history of tranquilizers in a Medical Anthropology class tittled: Minor Tranquilizers: A Brief History
Twentieth Century to Present .

And yes, I might just take a half milligram during a stressful day. So sue me.

It was interesting to study the dramatic switch from barbiturates to the new, then thought-of, "wonder drugs'" of the early sixties--that soon was to be Valium. Later, we found out the addictive properties of these types of drugs.

I DO NOT advocate trying these drugs whatsoever unless prescribed by reputable medical doctor. I have a prescription.

Interestingly, during my research I came across these advertisements for Valium, the first one is from 1965, the second 1981.

a bango album? Is that a Freudian slip? There will be no bango music, no matter how romantic, going on in my pokey cell, not that there's anyting wrong with it mind you.

There are laws some places (Florida for example) that don't allow you to go from one doctor to another with the same story in order to obtain large amounts of a drug. Usually, someone breaking this law is a big fat idiot (I hope you get the allusion), or someone who is sadly addicted to pain pills, etc.

Hmm, interesting.

180 tabs? Hmm, that should last a while

So, 180 1 mg tabs, you take 1/2 milligram "on a stressful day"

If you took one every day 360 days.

I always found it funny working in the psychiatric ward of the hospital when patients seemed to make up symptoms when seeing a doctor in order to get whatever they wanted. Sadly the doctors usually gave them what they wanted to shut them up.

Ativan is also quite addictive, hence the reason, I am sure they dont like prescribing it to "average joe."

Maybe you are doing a bit too much for science and your knowledge of such. Should we inquire into getting you into a 10 step program??

Yes, a half a milligram is all I would take during the day and on a very rare basis.

And as for as stocking up on 180 1 mg tabs, have you ever heard of Costco. Why shouldn't I?

I like to have it around when an occasional bout of insomnia comes on or when I want to sleep on a long flight.

And yes, this amount will last a very long time.

Why I'm justifying this to you (someone who thinks they know best for a stranger based on a few comments and statements), I don't know; I guess I'm bored.

I thought we were having a friendly conversation and now you want me to join a cult. What's their motto--One drink at a time? No thanks. I know your cult calls it denial, but call it what you will, Ill order two drinks at a time if I damn well please.

You know what they say, admitting you have a problem is the first step. Hope that realization kicks in sooner rather than later Cool

Likewise, I hope someday you see that being blindly judgmental is not very attractive. You will be a stronger person when your realize this.
