i dont know if possible but have heard interesting stories.

my ex-girlfriends mother told me she used to be in to this sort of thing whilst at university, did experiements with friends etc. she said that she gave up the interest after going to a train station and seeing HERSELF on the opposite platform. strange.

Isn't astral projection more or less the same thing as a lucid dream?

I will accept the reality of astral projection when it is generally accepted that virgins who have wet dreams are no longer virgins.

No. Not even close.

Namaste.

I believe Remote Viewing is possible. I tried it for a month during a vacation with a correspondence course (manuals, tapes) and I wasn't the best at it. But I got enough of an indication that there's something to it. It just depends on how much time you give to it to improve one's skill. That said it's not the same as Astral Projection, which I haven't a clue about.

I'd like to get back into the Remote Viewing and it takes some calm.

How about a working definition of astral projection (and remote viewing). I think we all understand lucid dreaming to be "conscious dreaming." But isn't astral projection usually done while awake (meditative state?), and/or through lsd, peyote or mushrooms.

I had a friend who used to tell me stories about how he'd go to Andromeda Galaxy when he'd astrally project, and that's where all the spirits have sex. He was a little mental we later found out, though that particular anecdote started me on the path to that discovery.

According to my roomate in college, after a couple hours meditating one night, he says that I phased out.

I was in the top bunk of our room, visible from all angles, yet he claimed that he and a couple of dorm neighbours spent half an hour looking for me and I wasn't anywhere to be found, least of all in the room with them.

*shrug*

If you count astral projection into dreams, there was a locally-famous shared dream experiment a couple of guys in my city undertook. They were apparently quite successful at getting into each others dreams until one night, they each dreamed they were in a diner. There was was a third person there who was speaking with one while the other drank a milkshake. When they woke up and met each other the next day, the one drinking the milkshake remembered the milkshake, diner, the man etc. The other, who had been talking to the strange man at the table remembered everything exactly the same except the milkshake in his dream was actually mixed body parts. They stopped after that, sensing the third "person" wasn't someone they wanted inside their dreams.

That's goin' back a few years though.

In one of his books, Martin Gardner shared a collection of testimonies from persons who purportedly cruised the solar system.
Each one had a completely different description of the inhabitants of the other planets.
Furthermore, none of them mentioned Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, because those three planets had not been discovered by astronomers.

Shocked This kind of stuff is disturbing to me. I believe it is dangerous to leave yourself open to foreign beings and practice things of the occult. Of course not everyone believes this. I think C.S. Lewis put it best:

Quote:
There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them. They themselves are equally pleased by both errors, and hail a materialist or a magician with the same delight.

I think of this quote every time someone says something similar to this, "Come on we aren't in medieval times anymore! The sooner we stop believing in all these superstitions the world will be a better place."

I have recently read an autobiography of a woman's experiences with the occult and astral projection. "The Beautiful Side of Evil"- It has a Christian author so If thats not your thing you might find her views offending. Just read some of the reviews and you will see what I mean. I found the book intense. I was able to finish it in a day which is rare for me. It was an interesting read, but non-Christians might view it as "typical Christian propaganda". Either way I can relate to some of the experiences the woman went through. Here are some of the reviews for it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-reviews/0890813221/ref=cm_cr_dp_2_1/102-9182271-1196926?ie=UTF8&customer-reviews.sort%5Fby=-SubmissionDate&n=283155

To the OP: Yes I believe it is possible, but I don't think it is something to be played around with.

Here is another book I read recently. It "explains" why ufos are starting to appear. Interesting read to say the least just look at some of the reviews. Even if you don't believe in this sort of thing it is a fun read. Sorry if this is too off the topic. More "Christian propoganda?" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0962451746/102-9182271-1196926?v=glance&n=283155
