At first I was surprised when I read this article but having met so many Korean men on my travels around South East Asia it doesn't really surprise me that so many are marrying South East Asian wives. The ethnic composition of Korea is going to change very rapidly it seems.

A fair amount of those are still Korean men marrying ethnic Korean Chinese women. There isn't too much ink in the Han River yet. |

Yeah, out in the country there are ads everywhere for Vietnamese wives. My friend in Tokyo was telling me how 10% of marriages in Japan are interracial and I was surprised at that, but this... |

I find this all very interesting; perhaps Korea is truly becoming a developed country now (and a world super power. lol.). As for comments about being pointed out as a waeguk saram ida this really gets annoying and a little too predictable. I live in a small country town where people here still find it interesting beating/ killing animals, or anything living. I truly feel for these animals because I often feel like a captive animal in a cage my self. I really hope that more people in Korea have interracial marriages and fewer children. I often wonder if Koreans think they are superior simply because they know little besides their own race and culture. 2 Million people of mixed race by 2020 should hopefully change this view, I hope. |

to make them get the point at how annoying it is, i tell them, look at the foreigner in korean. they tend to apologize very quickly after that. |
