A bit of everything.
Played hockey and rugby, so got on well with the jocks.
Went to all the good parties and had no problems doing drugs on a monthly basis, so the stoners were down with me.
Always got above 80% but never really did any work, so I could carry on a conversation with the nerds if need be.
Always has a smart ass comment for my teachers during class so gained a lot of popularity that way.
High school was great. To this day all my good friends are old high school buddies. Could never get into the uni scene ... bunch of pretentious, lets save the world, i'm so special for going to uni, B.S. (kinda reminds me of some posters here ) |

| I started out shy and finished high school still being sonewhat shy. I was also a thespian and a cute colorguard/drill team girl dancing around at football half-time in my little skirt and waving my flag. I was also the fashion editor for my school newspaper. I was also on an academic team with 7 other people and I brought the second highest number of points home for our team when we had our big school competition. I won the national French award, too. I also won the county spelling bee in 7th grade. |

my school was pretty small (only about 70 people in my grad class). Not much space for cliques. In the end it became basically the "advanced" and remidial" crowd. I was in the former but had the attitude of the latter.
I played and captained all the intermural teams I played on but that wasn't good neough(in gr. 11+12): My class happenned to have the 6 most freaky athletic cavement ever to pass through the school). We were all friends but I was friends with everyone in the advanced group.
The remidials were all smokers and ALWAYS reaked.
I was in drama all three years and soccer the last. Not artsy farty. Not overly charismatic but I did have a lot of character. All but one teacher liked me even though I never shut up. I wasn't a brainiac though there was potential. I bought my guitar in gr. 11 and that was the end of that.
Never had a girlfriend (was ugly) but not for lack of trying.
Kicked EVERYONE's ass in air hockey. Still can too. Don't cross my path kids.
Most of my friends are from high school because it became this freaky community that all went to teh same uni (except a small handful) if they went to uni. I escaped and made friends in a couple other places (saskatchewan and vanc), but I found that most other people were terrible at keeping in contact.
Had I gone to a big school, I probably would have ended up with the artsy farties OR (but probably not also) the soccer jocks. |

I went to Classical High School in Springfield, Mass. (the other choices being Technical, Commerce, Trade or Cathedral...) It was very college-prep/ liberal arts - and mostly Jewish...
My father was a popular math teacher in the same school... I played varsity football for three years. My freshmen year I put too much energy into trying to be a star fullback (no one could tackle me...) and I often fell asleep trying to do homework and was groggy in classes. I got mostly C's that year - after formerly always being an A student ...
After a knee injury ended my fullback aspirations I continued to play as an undersized lineman (offense and defense...) my junior and senior years, but managed to do better academically, often making honors while taking advanced college level courses ...
I was a school monitor, had a crush on the prettiest (blond) cheerleader, was too shy to ask her - or any of the girls I was interested in - to the senior prom (and started going bald from stress...) I eventually got heavily into music and art, passed up a football scholarship to Colby College (after rejected by first-choice Williams...) and headed to UMass-Amherst in a "most likely to freak out" state of mind...
(Sure enough, I quickly got absorbed into progressive music, hashish, pyschedelics, paranoia, insomnia, existentialism, manic depression, revolution, and cosmic consciousness...) |

i was a mixture.....
i was a little bit of a band geek (not like in american pie as i went to catholic girls school) i played flute and piano
I was a slacker (didnt study...did homework the day of/or before the class it was due and scraped by the skin of my teeth)
wagged class a bit but that was due to a shopping mall nearby and constant need for shopping and the fact it didnt affect my scrape through majority grades
but the weird thing was in my final year i was a prefect...dont know how that happened
I was popular and had many friends and we would organise parties for the weekend |

Only drill teams I ever got to see involved woolen uniforms and Lee Enfield rifles.
But in their own way... |

| Played clarinet in school jazz band and orchestra, youngest player to make the first 11 feild hockey team and captained it in my final year, number 2 in school in tennis, slacked a lot, stoner, party animal, smart ass, and still got the school English prize in my last two years. Either hated or loved by teachers, but respected by all. My parents were one of the very few who allowed kids to throw big parties so I was socially central too, but didn't care, was kind of aloof and too cool for school in a lot of ways, and hung with an elite group of guys I'm still very in touch with who have all gone on to do big things, I'm the big let down of the group... |

I was a hard out drama freak in high school and I was a bit of a hippie, so I guess I slot into the stoner section a little bit.
I was very angsty so if there was a 'moody chick' section I would have clicked that option.
oh yeah....................because I dressed like a hippie I was also slotted into the 'lesbian' section.....turns out most of the girls in my year slotted in that section too |

| That was quite a few years ago, but it sometimes feels like yesterday. I was a bit of a brain, I guess; I always enjoyed reading and learning (still do). I was tall for my age and somewhat muscular (I threw discus in track and field, so I lifted weights), but I didn't get a lot into school sports--I played in the band, instead (trumpet in concert band and sousaphone in the marching band--what a combo). |

| I was a combination of recluse, nerd and brain. I'd skipped two grades and lived in a small enough area that everybody knew it (and i was tiny for my age anyway, so even if they hadn't known, it was kind of obvious) and I've always been shy and socially awkward. I spent most of my spare time in high school in the library reading books. It's not a time that I've ever missed. |
