Hey,
I'm just gettin ready to come to South Korea...
Trying to figure out what kind of adapter to buy...I think that the plug sockets over there are the same as Continental Europe.. Is this correct?

While we're on the subject: I have a really horrible adapter for my NA laptop plug. It only accomodates two prongs, so the third is just sort of hanging out, which I'm sure is not the healthiest thing for the computer. I'm having a lot of trouble finding a three-prong one. Any suggestions? Or, even better, somewhere to get a new cord; I have a Dell Latitude D505.

Having the ground sticking out does nothing to your puter. It is a dead wire.
If it really bothers you, grab a pair of needle nose pliers and pull it off.
Alternatively you can go to a computer shop and buy the end of the power cord that goes between your "brick" and the wall. They only run a couple thousand won.
3rd alternative is to cut the end off your cord and put a new plug end on it. You can buy a new plug end for about 1000 won at either your favorite department (e-mart, lottemart, home plus) store or the nearest hardware store. |
