I have to agree, Prey is pretty sweet.
It has some cool new game mechanics in it, such as changing gravity and entering a spirit world.
Very good FPS. |

Battlefield 2 Special Forces has to be my favorite fps game. Best online fps anyway. So much fun sneaking up and using a knife on someone because they know they just got owned. Does Prey have online gameplay? Playing the computer enemies can be boring after a while. |

Personally I find Call of Duty 2 quite entertaining. Maybe because the latest games don't run that well on my ageing laptop. *SIGH* When CoD 3 comes out it's time to buy a new bad a** laptop!
I liked FarCry too. I wonder what kind of a machine will be needed to run Crysis when it finally comes out? That game will be awesome! |

Best game ever?
That is impossible to answer; there are way to many variables. |

Alright.
Well, being a FPS fan, I will choose from that genre only, and it's an easy choice.
The Quake / Doom series.
Yeah, I know. It's not really a single choice, but if you have played both games, then you know what I am talking about and why they can be spoken about synonymously.
John Carmack and the team at Id software completely and irreversibly defined the entire FPS genre and every game since then (actually since Wolfenstein 3D) has been following the same basic principle.
Id can also be credited with most of the major graphics revolutions since the early '90s and for the first practical realization of the online multiplayer game. |

If we're talking RTS then I'd have to say ROME: Total War. |

I agree. What a great game. I had finished a class on Roman History when I started playing. Knowing a lot about the history made the game even better. This is a reason I enjoyed Hearts of Iron II so much. I am fascinated with WWII and the history that surrounds it. |

I like Chutes and Ladders.....You never know when you might land on a ladder and shoot to the lead, only to be crushed a few seconds later by landing on a slide....No game in the world can match the intensity and the highs and lows of a good Chutes and Ladders game...
Even though Candyland does come close... |

Sorry! can be the same way. I have come back to victory many times. What an obnoxious name for a game. As kids you would sarcastically say, "Sorry! haha". |
