The answers I got were consistant each time I put in the same info. On top of that, I wasn't very happy with the answer I got.
My wife on the other hand, is suppose to live to the ripe old age of 91.
I don't know how much confidence you can put into it anyway. |

I mean, I'm all for the long life, so long as it doesn't mean I'll be senile and unable to care for myself. But living to 105... chances aren't that good. |

Do your condemnations come through complete ignorance of the advances in senescence/longevity research or through some arcane-yet-wholely-debunked criticism to senescence/longevity research?
I suppose you have some fantastic rebuttal to the Immortality Institute (and what an all star cast of signatories!), as well as their video, Exploring Life Extension.
Oh how predictable comes the banter of the uninformed.

Just a thought: Does anyone know anyone who is in their 80's who you would describe as having a quality of life that you would like to have? Seriously though, unless you are Hugh Hefner, or that guy who was banging Anna Nicole Smith, what is so darn appealing about being in your 80's? Such highlights as:
>most of your friends are dead
>you can't taste food
>you can't take a proper dump
>you may be wearing a diaper
>the grandkids never visit, by gum!
>all the youngsters are f!!#ing know-it-alls.
>you've seen it all. now you just want to stay home and not be bothered. |

...or the healthy skepticism of a jolly someone who has read many tales written in the all too predictable rhetoric of the various "informed": the Skoptzy and the Scientologists, for example.
But, for the fun of it, please explain how you apply the fruits of this research to your life here in Korea.

Associating senescence/longevity research with Scientology seems about as irresponsible as associating esoteric Buddhism with Catholicism.
I linked the ImmInst's free vid.
I put longevity research to work in the form of aggressive supplementation for preventative maintenance, as well as dietary and lifestyle considerations.
Most of those under 40 should have the opportunity to benefit from encroaching Singularity-related technologies which tie in with senescence/longevity research. Many of the just-over-40's should also live past the threshold. Kurzweil has spoken a good deal of this, and regularly hosts discussions and articles related to it on KurzweilAI.net.

I enjoy how you took exception to Scientology but not the Skoptzy--that's comforting.
I will watch the video and think.
