This is a very trivial matter, but still one that seems to have no explanation for me.

I think Korean people would buy McDonald's breakfast. Pancakes are as popular as hell. I know that in Japan, the McDonalds there have the full line of breakfast menu items including the McMuffins and hotcakes.

Does anyone know the answer to this one?

Probably coz the market doesn't demand it or can't support it. Korean breakfast, soup, rice, kimchi and fish, seems to be well entrenched here. I can't imagine Koreans going for McMuffins or hotcakes, especially since when I tell my coworkers that I usually have beans on toast for breakfast they look at me like I am from another planet. Another factor is that most outlets don't open before 10am. You can get the breakfast menu at Burger King in Itaewon, but I haven't seen it elsewhere.

My theory: no drive-through.

And rightly so, I might add.

wrong - I know of two McDonalds drive throughs. One is in Mokdong and the other is by Korea University.

Care to move past your semantic quibbling and discuss the actual argument?

they should try selling it at 10 am then. it's ridiculous, as the breakfast and coffee in Canada, at least, has become arguably their most popular items. It's definitely driving their profit margins over there. a sausage mcmuffin with egg is wicked awesome!

sure.

McDonalds breakfast sucks and Koreans know that. Therefore they don't sell it.

I feel your pain. McDonald's breakky is amazing!

Go to SEOUL STATION. They are selling the Mcmuffin. (however, it is in a hamburger bun and not the english muffin)

I was just thinking about this yesterday. I live in incheon by the University Hospital, and the Mack Donalduh accross the street is open at 8am and has a drive-through but alas no breakfast.

Also, Koreans eat rice and kimchi 3 times a day, so if they eat McDonalds at lunch or dinner, why not for breakfast?

Look at what they eat for breakfast. Our breakfast foods don't seem appropriate to them for eating in the morning. Have you ever noticed how all those waffle carts everywhere seem to open for business in the afternoon?

Haeundae Beach has one, and there is one in Bucheon too. Or was, it's been a few years since I've been there.

So, according to you, the regular McDonalds menu is better than the breakfast menu? Interesting.

Are there any other McDonald's occupied countries that don't have breakfast? Is it just in Korea? Was breakfast tried here and failed?
