Agreed, but with the caveat that this pertains to most psychedelics.

Spinoza:

I generally prioritize the set over setting/dose, but all three factor in.

A magus learns to be fluid within the stream, so setting and dose pertain moreso to the neophytes (i.e., beginners or those unfamiliar with themselves).

Namaste.

Fair enough. But just from what Ive read this shit sounds like nothing else out there. That little voice that youre talking about? Yeah, that goes. They say this stuff makes you feel like youre dying. Seriously. Ive read pretty much nothing positive about it.

Not necessarily true. I got burned big time with mushies my first time. Was too scared and scarred to try anything for ages. Then an opportunity came up 5 years later and I was still pretty weary of it. Went ahead with it anyway and was okay.

DMT and other psychedelics dont even sound like theyre in the same ball park

there was a time when i definitely pushed the envelope in this regard.. i'm the kind of person that thinks you have to take large doses alone a few times to get the full effect--preferably in daytime.

the one bad trip i had was with some cabalists that i had just met.. in a filthy house with at least 30 cats.. and 5 hits of some incredible acid. i should've known better, but i thought i was invincible.. well, i'm not.

i know precisely who i am.. and i enjoy having my cage rattled. but the moral is that the downward spiral of paranoia and self-doubt can happen to anyone if the environment is wrong enough. choose wisely.

i've taken both mescalin and shrooms at different times during my college years.. wasn't much of a religious experience though.

it was the typical of other hallucinetics.. waiting for it to hit.. then the laugh at everything.. then go into deep philospical thinking about anything/everything (how you communicate/interact with whoever you are communicating/interacting with).. then comes the strung out all night long without having eaten anything but the thing won't let you sleep and you psychologically are just gone and spent questioning what is sane and what isn't and where are you mentally are at now.. followed by a few days of a brain-dead freeze that feels like its solidying all the melted matter in your head from it.

(shrooms was much less intense - just a few hours of psychological googaa and then back to reality).

This sentence exemplifies exactly how completely you missed the mark.
