These two hawties are smokin'! Puffing away on Red Lion brand cigarettes in a garden somewhere in Shanghai, sometime in the early 1930s.

==================================================

This is a poor photo of a reprint of what is really a very fine poster. The product being pitched here is a "calming medicine" which we know the monk has already taken, as there he sits in quiet contemplation of spiritual matters, unbestirred by the external temptations of all them disrobin' hawties!

==================================================

What product would you say these two hawties are promoting if you didn't know better and couldn't make out any of the Chinese, hmm? Silk stockings? Slinky negligees? Oriental rugs? A massage parlour? Lesbianism? Well then you'd be wrong. Very wrong. Because this poster is actually an advertisement for its own creators, the Shanghai Commercial Art Company. "Top-quality painting & printing services at reasonable prices" sort of thing. Nifty, no? Certainly get's me all excited about ... um, you know... getting stuff printed and such.

==================================================

At this point I'm sure the cynics here are questioning my real interest in these vintage posters, suspecting it's all just a ruse of respectability, a fig leaf of "genuine artistic appreciation" meant to conceal a lowbred carnal passion for half-nekkid chicks. Well listen here, you haven't yet seen my posters of lush green meadows, flowers in bloom, children on bicycles, and interesting rock formations. And why not? Cuz I ain't got none of those! ha!!

Okay, here's a half-nekkid chick in a boat.

This nawtical hawtie is here to tell us all about the facial cream and other fine cosmetics available, 70 years ago, from the good (Chinese & French) people at The Great Eastern Dispensary, Ltd.

I have loads more, but no time to post them right now. I'm gradually replacing reprints with the originals of these posters. The reprints, made to scale in the 1970s in China after Mao's death, are becoming something of collector's items themselves. If anyone is interested in the reprints -- and I could have as many as 20 that I'd be willing to part with eventually -- I invite you to PM me, and we'll see if there's anything you might like. (No, they don't all feature half-nekkid chicks. I just wanted to stay "on-topic" here.)

Those are nice.

I would like to collect scaled down versions of the old cinema movie advertisements. You know those? They look like they were done in the 1970's. Somebody pasted one on here awhile back for 'Love Story'. They have a real cheesy-Asian factor.

That's it. You can still see them outside little cinemas in small Korea towns.

That top one is too funny!
My best guess: He failed art school AND he went to work with a severe hangover...
Drew Barrymore looks scary sure, but Adam Sandler looks like one of the Wicked Witch's flying monkeys in that thing.

Beautiful girl, but this is a great example of how you don't get out of a car in public with cameras flashing.
Yikes!
