And chose 1 of about 50 options! I wish I could take bets on how it all turns out. How long do clothes take to dry inside?

I went down to check on the progress after 40 minutes and the wash had not started. It was making a super nice humming noise but I opened the door and the clothes were still dry. I count this as an unqualified success given the absence of shrinkage or color bleeding!

Never seen a washer dryer combo in korea. So if you leave your clothes inside they might take a seriously long time drying. Of course that is if you manage to wash them in the first place.

It can take a while for clothes to dry inside, but through the process of elimination i have managed to nail down the five following techiques which will speed it up.

1- Frantically wave your arms up and down in front of each of your clothing items whilst hyperventilating, to add even more oomph eat a few hot peppers before hand.

2-Load up with Gimchi, week old boiled eggs, bundaggie and aim posterior at each individual clothing item then let nature take effect (bewrae of splatter residue).

3-(this techique requires some level of DIY aptitude) remove the head from a broom, you will now have a long pole, at spaces of 10cm apart drill holes in pole thick enough to insert sticks, fastensticks to pole and attach 1 (one) fan to each stick. In the middle of the pole (the one that use to be a broom remember) Fasten another tubular shaped object to act as a handle. When all this is completed, repeat this process, stand in front of clothing items and drop hanle to 45 degree angle, then lift to 0 degress, repeat till desired effect occurs (could be a while).

4- Don't show up for work for 3 days, on the fourth, take a tape recorder in with you and upon being called to your wongjangnim hit record. When your boss starts dishing out on your absence, get red in the face and start yelling "BUT THIS IS WHAT WE DO IN AMERICA". Take the recorder home (if you still have one) attach to speakers, aim speakers in general direction of wet clothing items, equalisation is somewhat of a factor here, you may need to tweak down the shrillness to more bass (disregard if your wongjangnim is female), then get blasting, shouldnt take more than 5 minutes or so.

5- It's a syentifaclly proven fact that clothes (somewhat in the same vein as plants) respond to human contact. Your clothing items will dry faster if you bunch them all up, hold them tenderly in your arms and coo sweet nothings at them whilst gently rocking your arms in a backwards and forwards motion.

If this isn't the post of the week, nay, month then this board is seriously flawed and i'll be forced to take my sage words of wisdom elsewhere.

Oh there is no dryer! I meant to ask how long it should take to dry inside my officetel...

On a related note, I wonder how successful a dryer shop/bar would be. You could come in, have some guiness or budweiser, order a hamburger or fish and chips, read the int'l heral tribune and do your drying all at once.

Did you check to see if the water is turned on at the connection?

Just like the gas in the kitchen stove, most Korean's turn everything off if not in use. Can be a real pain when we are used to instant gratification.

Maybe if you learn how to spell "clothes" correctly.

Maybe.

I swear there's a "Shred Clothes" option on some of them too.

When I first started using my Korean washing machine, I just let it run on whatever the automatic default wash cycle was when I turned it on.

That worked.
