Questions over the photos' authenticity have been put to rest by authorities that were present during the incident, which occurred on July 17 near the northern border. The mostly local children had been brought to see the shells by their parents. Although it remains unclear who encouraged them to write the messages, their colorful scribbles, including a Star of David, hearts, and "From Israel, with Love," have appeared in dozens of blogs, or on-line journals, and on-line photo hosting sites.

But you didn't choose to report the facts the first time, IGTG, instead you picked the most inflammatory bit of misleading propaganda on the subject to post here.

If you had chosen to post something other than the bullshit you found on iamthewitness.com (or wherever the hell you found it), you might not have squandered the opportunity to be informative and make a valid point.
But I guess it's true- tiger can't change its stripes, and a fool can't pretend to be wise.

If you saw the other thread about Nazis opening the files, I support that. I would like an accurate count. Why not discuss it more when that information has become public?

You will never get it......that information has Loooooooong been public, just not in the sense of any tom dick or harry being able to walk in and look at whatever he wished. There were reasons for this which would be another discussion

BUT

thousands of scholars and govt personel and unbiased researchers have scoured these documents, the effort is/was immense. Your denial of their "
numbers" is pure self delusion.

BUT

as another person said, the reason the holocaust is a seminal event in our (west) history is for the nature of the beast not the quantity of that beast's feast.......that one proper, distinguished, educated, democratic people could turn and allow the attempted genocide of a people ..... and also others stood by (though some did not)............ It is these questions which we must continue to address, not the number itself per say.

The lesson of the holocaust is the barbarity of the speissburger -- in German a term denoting the type of person who believes in morality, art, education and appears the well formed liberal who goes to the opera every week and cries when seeing movies YET who can turn and support the killing of others with a mere wave of his (yes usuallya HIM) hand. We have to be always vigilant of the "speissburger" whatever the time or nation......this evil spirit is within us all.

While I fully support the State of Israel in their current endeavor, they pretty much invented modern terrorism, what with the Stern Gang, Irgun, etc.

Wow, some heavy stuff guys.

There is a lot of name calling back and forth. How about just arguing on the merits of the case rather then resorting to name calling.

You want merits?

Feel free to debate this with Ilsanman.
As far as I'm concerned such a position deserves nothing more than scorn, ridicule and name-calling.
And I will continue to heap scorn, ridicule, and yes- even name-calling, whenever and wherever I feel it's warranted, as I always do.
If that makes me an asshole then fine, but I'm not about to this sort of BS slide by without comment.

Yeah, you're fine. But you won't find me insulting him in this thread. It's one sided.

I refuse to post to a person who insults me for not agreeing with him. I gave him a link and he won't follow it because I'm an 'asshole'. Oh well. Happy knowing you.

I won't follow it?!? Outright lie.
What I won't do is- subscribe and register at a new site to read something that you are too lazy to post here.

Not to worry, it's free.

Also, it's a thread of many pages, not a single post. That's why I won't post it here.

The truth is, you won't follow it. How is that a lie?
