Is a renewed E2 visa good one year from the date you renew, or one year from the date the old visa expires?
Now I am finishing my first year and about to renew to work another year. My first E2 visa started on Aug 28, 2005 and expires Aug 27, 2006. My contract is from Sept 1 to Aug 31 each year. I want to go renew my visa on August 10, before taking a trip out of the country.
So if I renew on August 10, is my renewal good:
- one year from the date I renew (Aug 9 2007)
- one year from end of first visa (Aug 27 2007)
- during the period of my contract (Aug 31 2007)(too logical to wish for)
This is important to me because if it is good one year from the date I renew, I will change my plans and renew only on the last possible day.
Thanks,

Starts from the end-date of the earlier visa. You can process it now no problem. |
