I just got back from a couple of wonderful days in Seoul. Went to the Picasso exhibit (very interesting). Also hit Itaewon and enjoyed the Nashville roof-top patio for the first time, and enjoyed one of their cheeseburgers that I've heard about on here. Food was great, but even better was to sit in an English-speaking environment like that. I have been in the sticks too long, er, Daejeon, and just hear Korean constantly, and frankly, it's pretty annoying/grating. NO one was playing drinking games, fake laughing, covering their mouth to talk, or eating bundaegee side-dishes. It felt like I was in another country, heavenly. Anyway, just want to know if any Daejeoners who get out more than me can recommend any places like this. It would be nice to enjoy the summer outside and not be bombarded with Korean, just for a little change of pace. If you can help me out, I'll buy you a beer next time I see you there Cool

Aren't you in the wrong country?

One of the hotels in Yusong has a roof-top place to listen to live music in the summer. It isn't what you are looking for.

Didn't you jump to conclusions? "Constantly" indicates a need to have a break from it, as I indicated in my post. Of course I would go to a Korean bar, but would be nice to have a place to go like foreigners in have in Seoul. Cut a guy some slack, especially one who's in the sticks.

Oh, ya-ta, just curious, does the behavior of Koreans in bars, not ever get to you? Maybe you're part Korean, but I'm not, and it gets on my nerves at times. Maybe your the teflon teacher though.
