Wondering if I could just do a mass broadcast. I'm looking for an English teacher somewhere in Korea named AMMON RICHARDSON. Unfortunately, I have little to no info on him. His granparents are friends of the family and haven't heard from him in a while. What I do know: Was an LDS missionary here once and returned to teach English. Age, marital status, location, or even timeframe of his arrival are all unknown. My parents offered my assistance, since I am here (Army Captain in Pyeongtaek) Hoping for any information that might lead me closer to him.
Thanks for putting up with the intrusion!
Respectfully,

Have you tried contacting any of the LDS churches to see if anyone has heard from him/been in touch with him?
If he was a committed follower of the religion, surely he would attend services regularly?

I assume many of you have extensive experience in dealing with the Embassies. Do they give out information? I assume he is registered with the US Embassy, but realistically don't expect them to give just anyone his address or phone number- or even when he came to Korea, for that matter. Just looking for options.
Thanks again.

Your best bet, I think, is going through this link:
http://www.ldsmissions.net/
There are links to four different regions of Korea, and you can search in English for active missionaries in each region... |

Me too but I find it hard to tell them apart. From about the 10 I have seen they have ALL had fairly short blond hair, blue eyes, been slim, fresh faced and slightly tanned, between 5'9 and 6'1. It's like they came out of a factory or something. Also they all have been wearing black shoes, black pants and a white shirt with a name badge reading "Elder Israel" or whatever their name is. Very hard to tell them apart.. |

Why would you assume he is registered with the embassy? In several years in Korea, I've never gotten around to it... |

| His family might be able to request information from the Embassy. |

Que buena idea Senor Cubanlord! Although, the OP says the guy isn't a missionary anymore, but an English teacher.
Still, post a picture OP and we will keep our eyes peeled

If you send a note to / get in touch with the embassy, they will NOT divulge his information but WILL post a note to/for him to contact you or his family.
Then it is just up to him if he wants to be contacted. |

Post a note...where? Are we all supposed to be checking the embassy for notes or Poste Restante every few days?
If the guy doesn't want to be found, I don't think it's likely you will find him. |

try the embassy. When you register, you can personally determine how much information can be released and to whom. worth a shot.
Definitely a good idea to register with the embassy. If the s**t hits the fan, the embassy can help you to get out, but only if you're on their list! |
