Once coppers start handing out fines like parking tickets for eating crap like this, I'll stop smoking. Maybe.

In UK they do.

And if all smokers gave up, all non-smokers would pay an additional 1,800 USD tax a year.

Are you telling me that coke is easy to get in Korea? Even in the UK you can't just nip around to the corner shop every time you want to have a coke session. The inconvenience factor, and even the fear of the legal consequences would be sufficient to significantly decrease the number of smokers. More importantly, the number of people who start smoking were probably decrease dramatically.

Not in Korea.

Coke is equally if not more addictive that smoking. Are there as many people who snort smoke as those who smoke cigarettes? Why is that? (back home too)

Banning anything never works. Putting it up to 10 bucks a pack back home seems to be working much better than prohibition ever did.

Anyways, in my opinion, anyone my age or lower who smokes either has very little will power or just isn't very bright. ANyone older, I give the benefit of the doubt that they weren't educated about smoking or it was still considered cool, etc...

You didn't specify Korea that I could see. Still, I'm sure you could find what you wanted, if you looked, although I wouldn't know, as I'm not into that.

Many things are illegal in Korea that people get with relative ease, such as pot.

You can't buy it at the local mini stop, light up while waiting for a bus, light up during lunch break at work. The inconvenience factor alone would probably make it very difficult for anyone to get through ten a day. Incidently, from what I have read I would rather see cigarettes banned as opposed to pot.

I often wished they were banned when I tried to give up in the past, just so that getting some would have been harder than just nipping round the corner.
