I think it is only a matter of time before a group of them somewhere gets massacred. Not even the Mormans are this thick.

The Foreign Ministry dispatched four officials to Afghanistan on Monday to protect Korean Christians participating in a peace event in Afghanistan.
More than 500 Koreans reportedly entered the Islamic country to take part in a three-day international event to engage in missionary work, despite warnings of potential terrorist acts. Up to 2,000 Korean Christians are expected to join.
"The ministry decided to send the officials as we determined that the safety of the 2,000 people is not guaranteed as security is worsening from terrorist activities by the Taliban and Islamic radical groups," a ministry official said.
The four officials from the ministry and the National Intelligence Service were set to begin operations yesterday.

That's farking stupid. Sending Christian missionaries to these Muslim countries is just going to provoke them. Anyone who goes to preach the Longnosed Goblin in Muhammad's turf deserves whatever happens. |

I second that RT, with this added: the fewer Christian missionaries we have roaming the streets the better. |

Come on.
I think it is a violation.
I have no problem with any religion.
But, if you don't want someone to try to change you, don't try to change them. Is "The Golden Rule" a religious thing? |

MLK was simply living in his own country. Saying what he thought was right. For racial reasons in this case more than religious ones. For the race of Black-Americans who also lived there. He wasn't travelling to another country trying to convert Muslims to Christianity under a charade of it being a peace rally. You know what the Korean churches are like. Don't be coy. It's all about evangelicalism. |

MLK was a minister of the gospel and used the truth of love to disarm racism. True evangelism is about social justice and with social justice comes freedom from such oppressive ideologies. I don't know this group, but will find out more.
Canadian Food for the Hungry does work throughout the world by going into third world nations and teaching them about sustainable practises. ie: how to build micro economies. The hope is that in the process, people will see the wisdom of love and turn towards it.
Unfortunately, terrorism isn't about one country and neither was racism. As you know, they are both world wide. Have you ever watched the movie on Gandi? I was surprised to see that his ministry didn't start in India. |

I can just imagine the scene: A big group of self-righteous Korean Christian zealots naively trundling through the streets of Afganistan. Convinced God is on their side, simply trying to let the love of God into the hearts of these misguided people. Cue bemusement, indignation and outrage from the locals at the marchers' arrogance.
Afghani's have had one hell of a time of it over the last 25 years. The last thing they need is 'The God Squad' telling them they've been on the wrong side of the religious fence all these years. I'm sure the prospective marchers really do want peace in the region. But beyond this they are trying to spread the Christian message.
The instability in Afghanistan is deep-rooted and complex. Christian peace marchers, no matter how well indended, are not going to help. |

My problem with missionaries is that they think all these people need is Jesus and they'll fix themselves. They're already messed up by Islam; can you imagine being messed up on Islamic and Christian beliefs together? |
