Yes- either they're a bunch of jerks or they're all illegals. Hope that clears it up.

Either way, they are not good co-workers.

Start a new thread and run a poll titled, "Should I call Immigration on illegal maple leaf smokers at my school?"

Or maybe its none of your d@mn business. Why do they owe you an answer for anything? If they don't want to talk about it then why do you persist in asking a hundred times? I hate it when someone I don't really like is asking me personal things for no reason. In what way does it matter to you where they went to school unless you have a better school and want to show them up.
Maybe they don't like you......that is an option.

Well, its not like he's interrogating them about secret information and asking them to betray their countries, goodness. I feel for the guy, there are some people out who are too secretive for their own good. They're just socially weird. Ya know what AlabamaMan, I wouldn't be pressed about it, if they don't want to talk, they don't want to talk.

Page 2 ,

I haven't glanced over any other responses. From my experience so far in Korea, I would refrain from asking questions about which University they've attended if they don't have E2 Visas. It could lead to some workplace complications such as us vs. them type scenarios. Best of luck,

I work with about 30 other foreign teachers and actually not one of them has asked me where I went to college. I haven't asked them either - frankly I don't care where they went. Obviously they don't care about my university history either.

I think I may have touched upon what degree I studied with some people in conversation but that's all.

Hmmmm...... if all 30 of them are here illegally.... $$$$

I know what you should do.

Post the name and address of the school and one of US will call it in to immigration!

We can't lose! DO IT!!!

Do it for the teachers who actually studied for their degrees!

Do it for the legal teachers who need that extra money!

Do it for the excitement it will generate here on Daves!

Do it for the articles that the KOREA HERALD will print about it!

DO IT FOR THE STUDENTS!

I disagree with the last part. I have seen some pretty good teachers without a degree (I worked in China) and I have seen many absolutely crappy teachers with a degree. In no way does a degree make you a better teacher, better person or more intelligent (see below). It only makes you more educated and well read.

Actually, for the intelligent part, many people go into university being not too bright and become even worse after because they now think they are intelligent and try to make up for a serious lack of intelligence with their education.

I mean, look at Mithrdates (spelling is wrong, I know Sad ), the guy is bright and can speak how many languages??? He doesn't have a degree (I am pretty sure, am I right?).

Jacl,

That looks like the perfect area to smuggle drugs into. You could glide a speed boat in there, and drop off a shipment of crack. Sell it the college custies!

The hottie quota raise between September and May. Many, many, many.

This is where my mom worked, god bless her soul.

It was the first building of the university (King's College then) and it's the oldest university building in North America.
