At least one tornado has been reported as having touched down. Warnings have been issued. High winds, lightning and power outages have happened here in Barrie.
Ahh, in a couple of weeks it will be monsoon and possible typhons. Whaaa! |

I just checked the weather in a few areas of South Eastern Ontario, because I have a lot of family and friends living there, and was concerned when you mentioned that (my family home was destroyed 3 years ago in a hurricane, I fear going through that again).
There is nothing reported but clear blue skies and sunshine for the next 9 days, with an "isolated thunderstorm" on the 10th day.
South Eastern Ontario is generally the Ottawa Valley, Cornwall, the 1000 Islands region, etc....are you sure that is where you mean? Barrie is not South Eastern. |

In my home part of the province yes. My hometown is smack dab in the middle of three great lakes...well their storms that is. Lake Huron, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario....There is at least a tornado or tornado like storm a couple times a year. Got to love that Southwestern Ontario part where I grew up.
