Aug. 3, SEOUL, South Korea -- Despite the scorching weather, South Koreans line up outside the American Embassy in Seoul to apply for visas on Aug. 3.

They're all Christians, sneaking in to hold a peace rally as a cover for converting people. Cool

RR,

Interesting articles! The picture shocked me. I've been to the embassy a few times and have never seen the line that long. I wonder if there is some reason all the people suddenly showed up.

It is interesting to contrast the anti-American sentiment against the use of American products and the fact so many people want to goto the US. To me there is definately a mixed message coming from Korean people.

Then again, not all people dislike Americans. I've met a handful of people who had didn't like Americans in general, but met me and changed their mind (my wife is in this category as well).

I love to joke with my wife about why American rice is not being sold in Korean stores. Personally, I see that as part of the anti-American sentiment and nationalism not the fact that it tastes different as Korean's claim. But that's a bit off topic I guess.

It's August people. School year starts in September. Happens every year. Move along, move along. Nothing to see here.
