Top Ten Stupid Newb Questions:
1/
Q: I want to quit but I have a contract! What can I do?
A: Well, you are totally screwed. Job contracts here
are enforced by the Supreme Court of Korea. You can
never legally quit, never. I suggest reading Uncle Toms
Cabin.
2/
Q: I live in Geoje Island. Where are all the raves, delis and specialty
wine and cheese shops?
A: This is a well kept Korean secret, but all these things are
usually located just outside of cities adjacent to dog meat farms.
Other things that can be found in these areas are Dennys, English
book libraries and Chinese restaurants that actually have Chinese
food.
3/
Q: Are Kids Club, Wonderland and ECC good to work for?
A: Yes, you are GUARANTEED to get what is coming to you
if you sign with these people.
4/
Q: Do any of you know if I will have problems leaving the country?
A: All I can say is: Dont even try! Instead, go to Busan and steal
a fishing boat. Then make your way to Japan.
5/
Q: My boss has me living in his home. I have to sleep in the same
room as his son in the top bunk of a bunk bed. Is this usual?
A: You get the TOP bunk!? Im going to renegotiate PDQ!
6/
Q: Can I teach privates with an F2?
A: Certainly. An F2 also entitles you to sexual intercourse with
any member of the students family.
7/
Q: HELP! Doing The Runner, what are the ramifications?
A: INTERPOL will search for you until the day you die.
8/
Q: What should I bring to Korea?
A: Duh, a kilogram of the best BC bud.
9/
Q: WTF! Why cant I wear a leather tank top to class?
A: You can in my class. (send pic first)
10/
Q: Dont you think Korean girls are childish and too skinny?
A: Hmm, ah yeah. |

Exactly the same question was asked of me by an American co-worker when i worked for a summer in Ocean City, Maryland. He seemed a little surprised when I told him that we did indeed celebrate Christmas in England.
During a conversation about a recent TV show, a German friend was also asked whether they had TV in Germany!! She wasnt impressed. |

In a liquor store, in Canada, I was asked:
"Are your (posted) prices in American?" says slow-talking American from the South.
This happened on two separate occassions. |

Heck, I was asked whether we have flush toilets in England.
They just aren't on the same planet over there. |

American tourist to my friend working in a comic store in West Edmonton Mall (about three hours north of Calgary):
"Man, I never knew Montana was so huge! How far north is Canada?"
My friend: "Just keep driving north another three hours." |

I was in America and got asked if we celebrated Thanksgiving in the UK. Some people obviously have no knowledge of their own history.
I also got asked if we celebrated the US Independance day. Going on the state that country is in now, maybe we should!!! |

It's not an official holiday date there, so I'm sure not everyone celebrates it. Why would they? |
