Hi

I graduated some 15 years ago and hell knows where my original degree certificate is. I have transcripts which state that I have been awarded the degree (sealed originals of these are all being sent at the moment).

Is there any way of not showing original degree certificates for the purposes of getting a work visa... has anyone out there had this problem and how did you get around it?

You'll want to contact your university as soon as possible and get that degree. Without it, you won't be able to legally work in Korea.

A few weeks ago, I was in the same crisis, because I thought I lost my diploma.
It turned out that my former employer still had it.

Do you have a copy of the diploma?
If you do, have the diploma notarized, and that should do the trick.

For a reasonable fee, universities send duplicate diplomas,
but that usually takes a few weeks.

Are you in Korea?
If you are, I hope you have enough to live on for a few weeks.
Or if not, I hope your prospective employer will be willing to operate on the sly for a few weeks.

You need the degree, no option.

Request one now because whatever paperwork you are sending, if there is no degree, the visa will not be processed or even considered.
