It's not an official holiday date there, so I'm sure not everyone celebrates it. Why would they? |
you missed the point! whether it is an official holiday or not, there are many dutch people who have no connection to the us who celebrate it because they love independence, according to the dutch people i lived with. non-hispanic/latino americans celebrate cinco de mayo, too.
i understand how you wanted to prove how absurd the question of celebrating thanksgiving in the uk is, which i totally agree with. all i wanted to say was that there are people in another country who celebrate the 4th of july. i didnt intend for it to come off in a way that would offend you. thats why i used the exclamation mark!  |
