Did you all notice about two months ago the Subway shop in Bundang near SeoHyeon station raised their prices by about 15% ? For example, a 30 cm Turkey Breast was KW6,100, then KW6,900 after the hike.

The shops in downtown Seoul have the same prices they had before (the same Turkey Breast, 30cm, is still KW6,100.) So, now, I just wait until I'm downtown to get a Subway sandwich when I feel like having one, which isn't too often for me.

Seems odd that the Bundang shops could raise their prices while others haven't. It would seem there would be one franchise in Korea and it would have to follow a uniform pricing scheme. Guess not.

Any idea whether the other Subway near Samsung Plaza, or the ones at Migeum and Jeongja, raised their prices as well?

The Subway sandwiches shop in Pohang seemed reasonably priced when I was there a month ago.

The one near Samsung Plaza is the one I am talking about (S S Plaza has Seo Hyeon Station in its basement).

I'm not so much concerend about the price hikes at Subway (at Seohyeon), it's the nasty brown meat they serve that causes me to stay away.

Pyongchon raised their prices slightly as well recently.
I don't think the Subways here are chains like they are back home--the one @ Pyongchon only puts three pieces of cheese on a 12", and one on a 6", even though they have four and two on their display models. Subway adjuma's excuse was that she thinks their cheese is different from all the other Subways...uuhh, ok

Does it frustrate anybody that to get a meatball sub usually takes 15 mins at the Seohyun Subway.

Who has 15 minutes?

GRRRR

Hahah. I know that ALL too well. They only prepare meatballs beforehand during lunch hour, and even then, it's hit and miss as to whether they're ready or not. Only things I liked about that place were that the manager chick was very nice to me and the non-new staff all knew that I wanted that oregano-parmesan mix they have stored in the back added on as well. No other Subway will do that... Crying or Very sad
