i've done it in the winter here many times

but my korean coworkers say that doesn't count

fan death comes from summertime use of fans with windows closed

why the heck would someone close their window in summertime? i say

i have slept in the summer with the windows closed and fan on, several times, but the air conditioner was also on at the same time, and my coworkers say that's the difference Rolling Eyes

When you live to update us, Koreans will say that your body condition is different. They will say that most Koreans have low blood pressure, which makes the difference. You will become, to Koreans, the exception to the rule (as will any foreigner who does it).

I always thought this would make a good cartoon:

Scene: Police are in an apartment (everything is strewn about) and a person is on the floor with several knives in his back. One policeman points to a running fan and closed windows and says, "Obviously, it's fan death."

I'd hazzard a guess that "fan death" is the result of carbon monoxide poisoning, or the rare but real suffocating in your own flatulance. Or, better yet, a combination of extreme drunkenness, the cooking of samgyupsal (thus, the carbon monoxide), and the resulting flatulance.

Smile
