Ireland?

Dublin will entertain you. It's still not fully yuppie-fied yet.

If you want to avoid the yuppies altogether then you can head off to Ireland's west coast. But only in Summer. Never, ever go in Winter! The Atlantic wind and rain will blow your head off!! Try somewhere like Galway Town, Westport or Ballyshannon. Especially during a traditional music festival. Rivers of Guinness, great pubs, everybody happy. Good times.

Coleraine in Northern Ireland can be fun as it's a university town. My hometown, Belfast, can be fun but I think you must have a local guide. Most parts of Northern Ireland are safe but you can't just walk around anywhere you like.

Avoid?.....well....A wet Sunday in Larne wouldn't be a lot of fun!!

New Zealand, Wellington kicks ***. It's the cafe/restaraunt king, and the downtown clubbing area with all very centralised and concerntrated unlike Auckland. You can walk into town, and get to anywhere real quick. Lots of color and bustle on the streets at night...and lots of good house music in the clubs, Welly likes it's funk...

i agree with satori that wellington is awesome!!! i am somewhat biased as its my hometown but compared to auckland all the clubs/cafes etc are within a dodgy drunken crawl of another...

also generally a city with a student population has good clubs..and cheaper liquor too...

worst: taihape (only nzers will understand that...unless you've stopped there on a kiwi experience/contiki or intercity bus) Laughing Laughing

In Canada it would have to be Montreal for best.

Yeah, Regina or anywhere in Saskatchewan or rural Alberta would be the worst.

Not during the days of the magical Club Kinetic though!! Razz

I've always had my best nights out in Brixton, and the worst night out I ever had was in Wallesey.

i had nothing but the best of times in st. john's, nfld. (such a relaxed, easy going place to be, and a bar every 2nd door down, or next door even, or across the street!), and in montreal...love that place.

the worst woulda been in mississauga, ont., for me.... clubs that were miles apart, so someone always had to stay sober to drive, or else take lotsa cab fare. and then they were filled with men (or boys) who used wayyy too much hair gel, and girls who wore wayyy too little clothing. just not my scene i guess.
