I apologise if this topic has been discussed elsewhere, but I've searched and can only find threads related to the health insurance provided in part by most contracts.
I was curious as to what insurance people have taken out to cover possessions and travel beyond Korea during their time out there.
I'll be taking a few gadgets with me that I would like covered, but more than that, I intend on making a few trips to the surrounding region while in Korea, and need travel and health insurance for those trips as well.
This isn't just paranoia: on two occasions I have found myself abroad and in need of medical attention - not major problems, but minor ailments that nonetheless required treatment, and thus money. (On a side note: these two incidents happened in the US first, and later in Cuba, which gave me a chance to compare the health systems of both countries, and, WOW, what a difference!!)
I would much appreciate any advice, or names and websites of particularly good insurers. I'm from the UK, so it'll be British-based companies I'm looking for. I'm leaving for Korea in a couple of weeks, so it's about time I got myself moving on this!!
Thanks in advance. |
