So I was looking into doing a martial arts, I don't want to do taekwondo, but I've always wanted to do jujitsu. Does anyone know of anything...I live in Bupyeong.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to find a Jujitsu class. While I'm sure it's in Korea somewhere, it's not that popular. If you aren't interested in TaeKwonDo I would suggest Judo, called Yu-Do in Korea. The two styles are some what similar and Yu-Do will be much easier to find.

You could also try Hapkido. It's pretty solid too ^^.

Anyways, here's how to write both Yu-Do and Hapkido in Korean. Just look for them on signs.

Yu-Do: 유도

Hapkido: 합기도.

If you are looking for something that involves groundfighting, check out Gongkwon Yusul - www.gongkwon.com Yusul is basically Korean for Jujutsu.

They have a dojang in Bupyeong:

인천시 부평구 부평1동 64-24 세일B/D 3층

Tel : 032)521-5669

If you have any questions, or want additional information, send me a PM.

Cheers.

I was a huge judo guy back home but decided to switch over to tkd over here. If you're looking for jujitsu style, then judo is the way to go. Lots of grappling and close combat (off-balance throws, etc). I'm hoping to find a decent club here for judo to supplement my tkd, but that will completely depend on if i have the time to really commit to it. Tkd involves much mroe kicking and punching, which was never really my style but I'm enjoying it regardless and have really grown to love it.

A friend of mine does Jujitsu in Seoul. It is everywhere and easy to find. When I get back to Korea next week, I will post the name of the place and wherever it is.
