It's funny you're saying they don't exercise and they eat whatever they want and yet you also want to say they are the perjorative word LAZY because of it.

At least you didn't say they don't work hard at their jobs and only want to sit on the couch half the time. Now THAT would be lazy.

I should have said apathy. None of them wanted to be in their current state, yet they were unwilling to do what it takes to change it.

Hmmm...you know, this topic has been around from way back in the day, before Dave reformatted this forum. I'm talking years ago. Are we really that dim as a collective group that this is what we love talking about?

For myself - I'm quite a chubby man. I think it's about time I dropped a stone or 2 and quit treating my body like an amusement park attraction. And it took me a while to get to the point where I felt this way. I'm not comfortable at my weight and I've started doing somethig about it. And I'm not ashamed to say it. As far as vanity is concerned, I'm not ready to start wearing a Speedo to the pool yet - and I doubt I ever will. But I will be healthier and a better looking person (possibly) due to this change in my thinking and in my lifestyle.

WE love knocking "Western" women here. Why? I can't understand why we work so hard to demean women here - they are worthy of a little respect and consideration. And regardless of what people may say, I still think there are a lot of good looking expat women in this country - regardless of what others may rabble on about regarding weight or other issues of appearance. Before I married, I dated all shapes and sizes of expats here and came away with some good friends, a couple of hot lovers and a lot of interesting stories. Open your minds.

There - I said it. Flame away if you must, but you're wasting your time if you do so because I know I'm right. And quietly, sitting there at your computer, you just might think so too.

So, things that were discussed over three years ago are not up for re-discussion? So much for this board then....

Glad you are doing something about your self-image. Hope my comments didn't cause any grief.

Y'know, it's all good - should learn to read the other posts before composing a post myself. And had I done so, I'd have gone a different direction with my post. Anyway, thanks!
