thanks to Jinju I now have some empathy for KJI, that country is a handful, it can't be easy for him to find the strength to get up and go to work each day.

I do believe that if no one helps them, the people of N.K. will have no one to blame but their leader and themselves. They have been isolationists for some time now. This will serve as a perfect lesson why being an isolationist has no place in this world. Hopefully, S.K. will realize what needs to be done.
|
You make it sound as if the North Korean people have made a conscious and informed choice to be isolationist, after a comprehensive examination of all the relevant information. When in all probability most of them are isolationist simply because they're been fed a steady stream of isolationist propaganda by their education system and the state media, with any outside voices heavily censored. So, I don't see how you can expect that the onset of another famine will make ordinary North Koreans more critical of the regime. KJI would just go on state radio and say that the famine is all the fault of the Americans and/or the Japanese, but he's doing everything in his power to alleviate it. And there would be no reason why that wouldn't make sense to the average North Korean. |
My apologies, I generalized when I said North Korea. I meant the high ranking officials. Allow the people of the country to rise up and finally take control of their lives for once. I would love to know what kind of Spin Il is giving his people as to why they have no food. I am sure it is along the lines of:
"The greedy imperialists of the world won't help...." even though they (the officials and government) hate the rest of the world until they (the country) need something.
Just like the article stated:
"if you want to just 'give us' the food with no ties, sure. Otherwise forget it". lol.
That made me chuckle. |

Let the people rise up?
Huh?
Clearly the people who are suggesting this have no idea what the reality on the ground is in North Korea.
How could the peple rise up?
The North Korean regime has absolute control over the entire country. Guerrila groups opposed to the government are as far as I know non-existant. Anybody who shows the slightest glimpse of opposition is thrown into a prison camp, along with his/her entire family. These same people have zero acess to arms, so how could they even begin a revolution.
The only way we are going to see regime change in North Korea is through a coup (I question how significant the change will be through this senerio - in a positive sence) or with outside help. |

Why? They will use the food to keep the army and others well fed and loytal. I say let them starve. Sure, the normal people will starve forst but soon the army will start starving and then the ones who keep KJI in power. If they all starve, it will be a cause for rejoicing. |

Yes, but I can't just let people starve. Lee Wha Rang said it better than me, though:

When someone is drowning, one does not stop to ask him questions. You fish him out of the water first and only then ask him questions; after he gets back on his feet, you teach him how to avoid drowning in the future. North Koreans are human being , too - and they deserve humanitarian aids from all fellow humans. The fact that you despise the Kim family should not influence your humanitarianism. One does not burn down a house in order to kill a rat in it. |

Juche. Independence. isolationism.
How can this be, if they depend on outside help and go to great lengths to extort supplies from their enemies (everyone).
North korea is better qualified as a "hostile parasitocracy". |

1. No need to ask questions. We know all about this one. This is not some random drowining victim, this is the psycho who has been terrorizing the village for the last 50 years.
2. No, you stand on the bridge, take a long stick, push his head under the water while shouting insults at him. Then you fish out the dead body, humiliate it and then after youve had your fun, you toss it to the dogs.
3. Look at #2. You bring him down, ASAP.
4. Sure, but they wont get any no matter how much you toss at them. Singun baby, Army first. Thats who gets it. The army and the loyal cronies. *beep* them. Let them starve.
5. Oh yes it should.
6. For this rat, Id burn down the whole shithouse. |

And I thought I was obvious.
- I was using kim to represent all of NK.
- You can give them all the aid you want, very litte to nothing at all will get to the people who need it. It will all go to the army. This is what Singun policy dictats anyway. Army first. People...never. |
