Hi all!
I am a student from the Netherlands who will be studying one semester in Seoul (SKKU).
What is the first thing you would do when arriving in Seoul for the first time (apart from the boring immigration stuff etc)? I am very curious about your thoughts on this!
By the way, which bars can you recommend? And is it true that Seoul is a very expensive city?
Take care! |

Go for a really good kalbi dinner, have lots of soju with it, and the rest should seem obvious from there. |

seoul can be expensive or it can be cheap, depending on what bar you happen to go into and what you want to drink. one thing is for sure, seoul is big. did you have any areas in mind? do you know where in seoul you'll be staying? if you can be more specific, i don't think you'll have a problem finding someone to recommend a good bar in the area.
my personal advice is to be sure you go to somewhere that says "bar" rather than a place that says "hof", particularly if you're going out alone. good luck! |

Seoul is fine for some. But I'd say you should make a move to a town that's right for you. Look for a town to keep you moving and grooving with some energy. Know what I mean? Well, we can talk about it, talk about it, talk about it, talk about it, talk about movin'. But in the end, you gotta move on. Gotta move on. Gotta move on.
So won't you take me to -- the Netherlands? Won't you take me to -- the Netherlands? Won't you take me to -- the Netherlands? |

Move to another city and do your courses by internet?
(Sorry, I'm a Seoul-hater from way back...there probably is SOMETHING good about living there.....maybe...) |

First thing I did was walk down the street to E-Mart and buy things for my apartment. Took it all back home, then found a kamjatang restaurant to satisfy my craving. Exciting, I know. |

Going to SKKU? You must be living near or in Hyewha-dong. Drop your stuff off and walk around your neighbourhood. It's a great area to be in. I'm sure you'll find something fun to do quite easily. There's a cafe called "The Comfort Zone" that's pretty good. There's also a tiny club called "The Bunker" which basically is a hole in the ground but great for partying with Korean Uni students. Have fun! |
