My Yahoo, Hotmail, gmail, Rediff, old US work (academic...k12.us) AOL and Eminem mail accounts are all unable to send to .ac.kr addresses. Some bounce, some just never arrive.
That's right about hanmail. Koreans hate it too, in many respects. There was/is a war on between other local e-mail providers and daum. They were ganging-up on Daum because of it's dominance and spam policies.
