the whole edifice of moral equivalency, necessarily buttressed by leftist-warrior-journalistic-fellow-travellers....
is, as we blog, experiencing its very dying breaths..... good riddance!

Oh, unholy god above- self congratulatory, much??
Lazy journalistic techniques uncovered!! Sell two photos shot on the same day - twice - on two consecutive days, thanks to creative captioning.
Double your money! Make a picture of smoke... look like there's slightly more smoke!!!
You're seeing a conspiracy where none exists. Congratulations... you're the right wing IGTG. |

obviously you haven't been following the full story. And reuters has been at the anti-Israel thing for YEARS. But this is the first time the scandal has broken more or less globally, it's been covered by all major networks, including even CNN and even left-leaning sources such as Christian Science Monitor.
Basically, like the fake CBS memos, it exposes the leftist bent of most mainstream journalists.
And it also highlights the consistent efforts of Palestinian and Arab terror sympathizers to FAKE stories. |

IT'S PROOF!! They're out to get me!!
Like I say... I don't doubt photographers aren't above chucking a stuffed toy in front of the burning building to build the pathos, and increase the saleability of their pic. They caption their photos in the most compelling way possible for the same reason.
It's all put up to go on sale, SALE!!! Dollar bills y'all.
This isn't a smoking gun. Give it up. |

It's money...perhaps there's a left wing bias in the media, but this isn't an example of it. |

Left-wing bias in the media? How about massive discrepancies with Reuters free-lancers. There aren't several cases out there, its a lot of photoshop done to make the Israeli attacks look more brutal.
But hey, this isn't being done by free-lancer Reuters correspondants who may or may not have certain sympathies or may be receiving extra money for their services.
C'mon, you can acknowledge that this is journalism at its worst without subscribing to all of sundubuman's diatribes. |

diatribes???
I suppose Castro's four hour speeches are simply education for the masses in comparison.
And yes, I do believe that the MSM (mainstream media) is dying, largely because of the integrity and perserverance of folfs like Charles Johnson at www.littlegreenfootballs.com
Sadly, in the Arab world, their newly born MSM has more power over their largely uneducated and often illiterate populace. Look for increasing anger in the very angry Arab Street. |

I'm reasonably indifferent to the issue as a whole, just reacting to the overly zealous glee of Sandubmoron who thinks he's uncovered Watergate when commonsense says it's nothing like it.
You're right it is shoddy journalism, but anyone with an understanding of how the media operates will realise that this isn't proof of anything more than ;
1) opportunism by photographers - Make the pic more compelling than reality it's easier to sell, and editors setting up the layout to the next days page don't have time and don't care to check.
2) laziness by editors - I don't have time to fact check every little thing, I have to trust the journo/photographer to do their job.
If there's more to this issue than what's been presented here, then I apologise, but I'm unaware of it. But this photoshop job is small potatoes.
Like I said, in the original there's some smoke, and after.... MORE smoke. Big f*cking deal!! This isn't going to convince anyone that Israel is the regional rapacious overlord, and if that's what was intended - then the Joo's and Sandub's of the world can rest easy, because the conspiracy's being run by idiots.
So, Kuros, if this is all the evidence we have of "massive discrepencies", and "a lot of photoshop" then you're falling short of proving that. If you know anything about photoshop, you'll realise there's not a "lot" being done.
Joo, common sense says it's the money, because if it's to further a political bias it's utterly ineffectual. |

if you think this is all about a few photoshoped pics, then go ahead and call me a moron. I'm guessing you are getting much of your info from the MSM, which until now, has only grudgingly indicted its own in regard to journalistic shenanigans (Jayson Blair, and after a few weeks!!, the forged CBS memos that Rather wanted to run just a few weeks prior to the 04 election).
But dude, it's much bigger, and especially in the middle east.
If you enjoy the propaganda of the mainstream left media, which consistently attacks Israel and America, then I suggest you purchase a lifetime supply of Michael Moore's videos and books, a maybe the full works of Noam Chumpsky. |

here's another likely example of fauxtography
http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2006/07/25/world/200607725_LEBA_SLIDESHOW_4.html
check out the face of the black guy in the corner....certainly seems photoshopped.
Why would this matter.
Trying to subtly expand the idea of victimhood to include a billion or so dark-skinned Africans might seem to be the rationale.... |
