| Im using 1 at work (LotteCanon LCV-7403N), but it continually shuts down (then restarts after I give it some time). School says they bought it last year. i think its an overheating problem. Anyone know anything about these machines? or projectors in general. |

It is overheating... is/are the fan/s running?
Does it have ventilation space above it
How is the ambient temp around the unit?
Can you place a fan to blow cooler air up to it (I assume it is ceiling mounted)?
Can you turn on the aircon unit that is closest to it? |

Open the case and check the fan grill- I'm willing to bet it's full of dust, which will cause reduced airflow and greater heat buildup. A can of air should do the trick.
I just looked at LotteCanon's website, and they deserve some sort of prize for terrible website design and implementation... |

| Thanks, I was gonna try the can of air tomorrow. Should I just spray the air into the vent. or should i try to take it apart and then spray? |

Previous school had one of those. Whenever we ran the heater in winter, it would blow heat out up into the ceiling, where the projector was hanging. We had to keep from running the heater because the projector would shut down.
Be sure the air vents are clean, and the filter has been changed. Good airflow is important. |

Can't say as I'm not familiar with the model, but for mine I remove the vent-grill and physically pull all the big bits out before using the canned air. I also open open the lamp compartment afterwards and give it a clean to make sure there isn't blown dust on the lamp or on the inside of the lens. |
