Help.... I'm trying to make a quick decision about taking a job in either of these places. I have not been to either, but have narrowed it down to these places from my extensive internet research and gut feeling for my personal needs. However!!! if anyone out there has experince with these places and has helpful opinions, then I would love to hear from you..
Thanks All
Mike

Oh pick Jeju! I am leaving for there in 2 weeks! I have a few friends there already and they love it. Then again I have no knowledge of that other place. But you should still pick Jeju |

I've heard from a co-worker that Mokpo is a bit of a hole. She worked in Gwangju and they always had people coming to Kwangju from Mokpo for the weekend, since Mokpo apparently had little social scene. Check out the Yahoo group "Rhymes with Jeju" to sample some Jeju expat hijinks (thinking of relocating there myself.) |

I wasn't too impressed with what I saw of Mokpo either, but by virtue of being on the mainland it'd be easier for you to get to Busan or Seoul if you needed a proper urban fix, plus there are a lot of gorgeous islands nearby connected by ferry.
Chejudo, however, is downright beautiful. Nice beaches, great mountain to explore, even more beautiful islands nearby. The only downside is that it can be a bit difficult to get away.
I'd still pick Cheju. |

i lived in mokpo for a year and i would say it was ok. the city is pretty boring and dirty, but the areas near are very beautiful. there are some islands nearby that are great and also, there is a green tea plantation and many temples. |

Mokpo is one of the most foreigner hostile cities in Korea. It sucks. |

I have recently been to Jeju for the first time, and I have been to Mokpo several times.
All other things being equal, I'd take the job paying 300,000 w LESS in Jeju than a Mokpo job.
Mokpo isn't as bad as Masan, but dang, it's pretty darn close.
It's saving grace is twofold: 1) the air isn't too bad and 2) it is close to some beautiful islands and coastal areas for easy weekend travels.
Jeju is a kind of paradise. Maybe not spectacular to some, but really nice. |

I live on Jeju-do for a year and a half and only a very good job offer enticed me to move to the mainland. Jeju is fantastic. |

I'd go to Cheju. Haven't worked there for a year yet but I'd like to. If it's your first time in Korea Cheju would be a gentle, pleasant, natural intro with its beaches, sites, views. Re; the actual job that's the important thing. Ya need relaxed people at the workplace, good boss.... |

Nice prices... |
With the other airlines too, tons of flights from the island to the mainland, cheap.
Plan a weekend in Busan or Seoul every month or two or three if you want. |
