I asked my registrar to register GODofART.com for me last December. They 'forgot' and it showed up in February registered by someone else. I switched to a proper name registrar company now though...

I'm temporarily very interested in domain names. Thinking of bumping up my portfolio. I guess unless you get a really good one, or you have the time to develop the site - there isn't really much point. Still though, it's an interesting field IMO.

Presumae is for a web site that I finished about 90% of, then got distracted with something else. The idea is that it's a combination of

presentation + resume = Presumae ... get it ?

It's spelt phonetically ... Wink ... ah well ... Embarassed

Anyway the thing has >9000 lines of php, probably more html and css, and a ton load of javascript as well for that matter ... Embarassed ... I'm definitely gonna get that thing finished ...

anyway, I'm rambling ...

I'd prefer to keep them private. Only 2 of them have any marketability and I'm not really interested in making money off of my sites. Though if it happens I'll be happy. Building web sites is more of a hobby for me and all 11 domains have sites or are in development.

Well let's see, 26x26x26x26 possible posts. Will you tell us when we get it right Wink

Mine is just my name.com. It's completely personal, and consists of nothing at the moment. Man, after four years I have forgotten a lot of stuff about programming. Still, like riding a bicycle.

I just got a 5 year lease from a proper domain registrar on 2 domain names. And they're not just good, they're perfect for our new business.

Long time ago, I pissed off some guy on IRC by dating the woman he was in love with. He was this weird shut-in guy who spent all his time living in his mom's basement writing some financial software he sold to banks. Since he refused to ever leave the house to boil my bunny, his only act of revenge was he registered my last name. Oddly he turned my last name into a business software acronym. Pretty impressive.

A wonderful story by a friend on how he got another friend a million+ deal for road.com and some of freaks he encountered on the way. (Needed to pull it out of google cache.)

My friend pocketed about a 10% commission on a US$ million+ sale. That was back when US$1 = CAN$1.50.

The best part is the story where he had to deal with Russian gangsters who claimed they were going to come to Canada to force a sale of the domain for $25,000. He had to get CSIS (the Canadian CIA) involved.

I guess it's a better story when told in person.
