Does anyone know if fresh lamb is available here? I've seen and bought frozen racks at Hannam Market, but I live in Incheon and it's a ways away and frozen. I've heard you can get stewing lamb, but I'm looking for chops for grilling (no BBQ sadly).
The nearest Costco to me (Yeongdongpo) does not carry it. Do the others? |

Grotto, COSTCO in Youngjae no longer sells lamb. When I asked the manager about this, he said too many Koreans complained about feeling uncomfortable at the idea of the selling and consumption of lamb.
Dog meat is ok, as long as the cute, cuddly lambs ar spared
Where To Get Lamb:
At the mosque in Itaewon there is a butcher who sells lamb at KW 8,500/Kg.
To get there, go to the masque and outside, on the mainstreet you'll see the butcher shop. Don't worry about language barriers as he can speak English. |
