I've posted before.... basically I got screwed out of 1.5 mil for stupid reasons (like a VERY liberal reading of my contract my last day should have been the first, but the first was a sunday which i never work, so he said I hadn't worked my full six months, and deducted money for my plane ticket TO korea, and other stupid little things).
So anyways, I wrote a huge letter, very intelligent, detailing and providing proof (letters he'd given me, doctors notes, highlighted segments of my contract, copies of emails sent to me, etc) to the labour board, legal aid for foriegn workers, tax bureau, and pension office. I have heard nothing. And it's been almost two months.
So now I think I need to call. I called the Labour Board, but it seemed that no one could speak English and they just kept giving me new numbers to call which either got me to voice mail or other recording in Korean that I didn't understand.
Googling for advice and p hone numbers isn't working for me.
Is there any free legal aid here?
Any ideas as to the NEXT steps that I should take? (go DOWN to the labour board maybe?)
Most of all I'd appreciate phone numbers. my current problem is that i'm teaching intensive summer classes nine hours a day and i'm there during office hours, so i can't really get down there, only call.
thanks so much you all.
i always appreciate the people here. |

You could try www.efl-law.com They helped me out when I had to go to the labor board and file a criminal lawsuit against my crooked school. Good luck. |

You need to go to the labor ministry and be prepared before you go, meaning you should go with a Korean person who is willing to help you.
If you don't have time then you are S.O.L. |

Very true. There was absolutely no English service there when I went there. I had to go during the day and all my Korean friends were working. I actually hired an interpreter. Made a friend too. Pretty cool guy. |
