what's with all the false advertising in the English newspapers by various travel agents...240k osaka, 300k bangkok..."Hi, I'd like to book that 300k won ticket to Bangkok that you advertise every week..." Someone let me know if that ever goes through.

Certainly. These prices are for non-peak season. Since it's always peak season in Korea you'll get these prices when hell freezes over. Wink

I freakin' hate that, too! No matter when you call a Korean travel agent they always say it's peak season! For example, you could try to visit the US at the end of May and the conversation would go something like:

"Oh, busy time, everyone is leaving Korea." the agent would say.

"For what?" I would ask.

"As you know it's Memorial Day Weekend in the US. As you know many Koreans travel during that time."

"They do, do they?!"

"Uh huh, yes, it's peak season. Difficult to get a ticket and expensive if you do." she says with a straight face and serious voice.
